A 2012 system. A 2025 retrospective. The engineering behind a simple picture.
I’m Jason. I build systems, write to make sense of things, and make music to give them feeling.

These pieces are a starting point. On Geekist, the same curiosity moves between technology, language and everyday life. Explore a little further below; older tutorials belong to their time.
A system. A sentence. A team. A score.
I’m a principal engineer, technical writer and independent creator. Building software gives me things to write about; writing helps me understand what I build. On Geekist, that curiosity follows a wider path—into language, everyday stories and poetry.
Music brings another way of listening. Across a system, a sentence or a score, I’m drawn to how the parts come together—and what they make us feel.
My path runs from products and platforms at realTasia, Sourceguru and Heardable to regional engineering at Prudential, technical leadership with PALO IT on DBS Marketplace, and enterprise architecture at Thoughtworks.
Along the way, I’ve contributed to projects for Speedoc and Ahrefs, and led engineering at MyGooroo. Those experiences shape how I approach a system—and how I explain it.
That same care goes into the work we make together: something worth explaining, building, or thinking through.
Commissioned ghostwriting stays private. The work shown here is public, independent work.
No perfect brief required. We can find the shape together.
